If you are a Caravaggio fan than you should recognize this piece pretty quickly. This assignment was designed to take one of Caravaggio’s painting and create it into a charcoal piece. Kristin used Caravaggio’s “St. Jerome Writing” and cropped the piece for a better composition.

In Shannon’s 3d class she was asked to do a variety of projects but these three in particular were assignments that drew the classes’ attention. The mask was created by blending 3 masks together and carving styrofoam to have the illusion of movement. The necklace was a piece that was inspired by one of her own pieces of jewelry! what captivated the class the most was the scale of it, because it was almost the size of her! And finally the flag was a sentimental piece because shannon decided to represent herself because Kristin and Shannon are mir-image twins which means they are the opposite of each other and the black and white coloring represents yin and yang which completes one another, and the gemini sign is their older sisters’ sign and this sign also represents twins, so shannon did not only incorporate her twin but her older sister as well.
